*ベステルチョウザメ [#ud8ce67f]

オオチョウザメ（Huso huso）のオスとコチョウザメ（Acipenser ruthenus）のメスの交雑種。
コチョウザメの肉質の良さ、キャビアの利用価値、オオチョウザメの大型化を併せ持った食用魚として作り出された。日本でも寒冷地の養殖魚として広く養殖が試みられている。
白い鱗甲と黒い体色のコントラストが美しい。

オオチョウザメは最大で8メートルにもなり、コチョウザメであっても1.5メートルにもなる。
そのため水槽内であっても最低1メートル程度には成長する。稚魚であっても3年程度でメートル級に成長する。体が固く、最低でも体長と同じだけの奥行きが望ましい。

両種とも高温に弱いので、夏場に水温の上がりにくいかけ流しの大きな池が向いている。基本的に養殖場のような設備が必要になる。
水槽であれば、夏場にはクーラーの導入が必要。

溶存酸素量の多い水を好むので、流れを早くするか、エアレーションを行う。養殖場ではポンプで汲み上げた水をかけ流しにしている。
成長が早いため、大量の餌が必要になる。

一般家庭での飼育は非常に困難。
