*アルビノ・スポッテッド・ナイフフィッシュ [#c6b07099]

[[スポッテッド・ナイフフィッシュ]]の改良品種。
メラニンが生成されないアルビノを固定したもの。もともとあったスポット模様が淡いイエローで縁取られる。

ただでさえ珍種だが、真っ白いからだで水槽を泳ぐさまはまさしく幽霊のよう。
珍種マニアには垂涎モノ。

目の黒い白変種がアルビノとして流通することがあるが、正確にはアルビノではない。正式なアルビノと区別するためにアルビノの個体をリアルレッドアイと冠することがある。

飼育に関してはオリジナルに準ずる。

**特徴・飼育上の注意 [#cce7eefb]

最大で100cmと大型になることから、水族館クラスの設備が必要になる。
また本種は水質の汚れや変化に非常に弱い。2ランクほど大型のろ過器を使い、週に50～70％の水換えが必要。
さらに溶存酸素度の高い水を好むため強い水流と、十分なエアレーションも必要。

以上のような特殊な整備が必要なこともあり、はっきりと言えば水槽飼育に向かない種で、民間での長期飼育は非常に困難。

生息地は水深の深い、流れの早く薄暗い川。

流木や岩、または土管やパイプ等を設置して隠れ家を作ってやると良い。
こなれた弱酸性の水を好むため、マジックリーフやピートなどを利用してブラックウォーターを作ってやると良い。

水質の変化には弱く、特に薬浴に対する耐性が低いため注意が必要。白点病にもなりやすいため、水質は安定させたい。

肉食性のため、生き餌を好む。エビやイカ、赤虫なども好物。肉食魚用のタブレットにも慣れさせることができる。夜行性のため、ライトを消してから餌を与えると良い。オスとメスの性差は殆ど無い。
